DFS makes every effort to ensure that this website is free from viruses or defects. However, due to the nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that your use of this website won’t affect your computer. DFS recommends that you purchase the right firewall and anti virus software to use this and other websites and screen out anything that may damage it. DFS shall not be liable in the very unlikely event that while using this website your computer equipment is damaged.
DFS has taken every care in the preparation of the content of this website, in particular to ensure that prices quoted are correct at time of publishing and all products have been fairly described. However, orders will only be accepted if there are no material errors in the description of the goods or their prices as advertised on this website. All prices are displayed inclusive of V.A.T. We make every effort to display the colour of the furniture as accurately as possible. But as colour reproduction depends on your computer’s monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of the colour is accurate to the actual product. To help ensure that you purchase the sofa colour of your choice we will endeavour to send out a sample swatch of your chosen colour.
If you decide you would like to place an order with DFS by speaking to one of our personal shopping advisors, please have the following information ready as it will help us process your order, however, we will be delighted to answer any queries you may have. Everything that DFS sells is handmade. As a manufacturer we pride ourselves on being able to make furniture that's perfect for you.
If you place an order with dfs Direct, we will send all your paperwork by 1st class post to arrive within 3 working days.
It is important that you appreciate and understand that this order is a legally binding contract. Your statutory rights, including any cancellation rights, are unaffected.
You will be informed of the likely approximate length of time until delivery at the point of order. Once your order is confirmed as available for delivery we will contact you to agree definite arrangements for the date of delivery. Where possible we will deliver on the first available van in your area as we are unable to store your furniture. Every effort is made to see that the approximate delivery date is accurate, but on rare occasions the manufacture of your furniture may be delayed through circumstances beyond our control. We will, of course, make every effort to keep you informed.
If you choose to pay using humm interest free credit, the approximate delivery time will start once you have completed your humm application and signed your credit agreement, so we advise completing this as soon as possible.
Your swatch box should be dispatched in the next day or two, and we'll contact you by email to let you know that your swatch box is on its way. We would also like to keep in touch with you in the future. However, if you only want to know that your swatch box has been despatched, you can unsubscribe by clicking the link in the same email.
A charge of €129 is made for our delivery and installation service for deliveries made in Ireland, within a 40 mile radius by road of any DFS store. If you wish your order to be delivered outside the 40 mile radius we will be happy to provide you with a personal delivery quotation. e.g. mainland Europe, Channel Islands, etc.
DFS can deliver and fully install your furniture to destinations outside the Republic of Ireland and regularly deliver to mainland Spain and Portugal via our trusted third party suppliers. On the day of delivery, please ensure that the delivery team can gain easy access to the room that the furniture is going into. Please make sure that the area you want the furniture placed is cleared. Our delivery team will unpack your furniture, install it in the room of your choice and if you wish we will remove all packing materials from your home and recycle wherever possible. Unfortunately, we are not able to take away your old furniture. To make sure you are completely satisfied with your furniture the delivery team will ask you to sign for your furniture after it has been installed.
DFS guarantees that products advertised on this website as guaranteed delivery before Christmas will be delivered no later than the 24th December to mainland ROI addresses including Northern Ireland. If you live outside mainland ROI and NI please speak to a personal shopper who will be able to advise on delivery times. However, if due to circumstances beyond our control DFS fails to deliver in time for Christmas, substitute furniture will be supplied for use until your order is fulfilled.
Payment methods include debit or credit cards, Visa, Mastercard, Delta/Connect or Maestro. Payments can be made electronically by bank transfer, details will be provided on request. DFS do not accept any responsibility for cash sent in the post and strongly recommend that you do NOT use this method of payment.
If DFS have agreed that you can pay for the balance of your order by card on delivery, any outstanding payments must be made to the delivery team before the installation of the furniture will take place.
Right to cancel - Cooling Off Period. Where you purchased Products* exclusively via our Website or Websales and have not seen them in a store prior to purchase, then you are entitled to change your mind and cancel your Contract up to 14 days after delivery.
You will be entitled to a full refund of the price paid for the Products plus standard delivery costs; however, we are entitled to reduce the amount of any refund to reflect any reduction in the value caused by you or if you have failed to take reasonable care when handling the Products, and express delivery charges above the standard rate will not be refunded.
* Your rights to cancel during the Cooling Off Period excludes:
i) Bespoke items custom made to your specification.
ii) Mattresses which have been unsealed, due to their intimate nature. All mattresses are delivered sealed in clear plastic wrapping that will allow for inspection. Any mattresses that have been unsealed will be deemed as having been used. Therefore they cannot be returned for any reason other than because they are not as described or are not of satisfactory quality.
iii) Self-assembly items that have been damaged during assembly.
iv) Purchases made in-store or where you have inspected the Product prior to purchase.
If the Cooling Off Period applies and you wish to cancel please contact us in writing as soon as possible. If you are exercising your right under this clause you must arrange for the return of the Products to us showing no evidence of use within 14 days of you telling us you wish to cancel the Contract. Whilst the Products are in your possession you must not handle them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and function. It is your responsibility to return any Products to our central delivery point in a good condition and we ask that you return the Products in appropriate packaging such as to prevent damage in transit. DFS recognises that many customers do not have the means to return Products themselves, and so we can arrange collection during normal business hours (Monday to Friday). A charge of up to €195 will be made to cover the cost of collecting the items. For orders where the delivery charge was more than the standard charge, collection costs will vary and may exceed €195. We may also charge you for any usage of the Product prior to collection by us so you should try not to use the Product whilst it is in your possession.
Cancellation of your Contract where DFS are not at fault and there is no statutory right to change your mind. If you request to cancel your Order before it is completed, you will have to contribute towards our costs which we have already incurred by preparing your Order. We will refund any money paid for Products not provided deducting a reasonable contribution towards the costs already incurred by us. If you notify DFS within 48 hours of placing your order we may be able to prevent any costs being incurred with our manufacturing & logistics partners. Cancellations and amendments more than 48 hours after the order is placed could incur a cost of up to 20% of the price of the Products as a contribution towards the costs already incurred by us.
If you are entitled to a refund, it will usually be processed within 14 days and will use the same method as the original payment. If the original payment method was a credit agreement, DFS will make the refund to the finance provider usually within 14 days, the finance provider is responsible for deducting the amount from your agreement, please see the terms & conditions of your credit agreement for further information. Any Products that need to be returned to DFS (please refer to the Cancellation Policy for further information) must be returned to our central delivery point prior to the refund being processed. When calculating refunds, a deduction may be applied to cover usage depending on the condition and length of time the Product has been in your possession.
DFS are the leading specialist in upholstered furniture and we go to great lengths to ensure that everything we sell is of the highest quality. DFS have such confidence in the sofas we sell that we offer a 15-year guarantee on everything we make and on products that we have exclusively sourced from our supplier partners.
The guarantee starts from the date of delivery and offers cover against manufacturing defects on the frame and spring construction. Additionally, stitching, electrical parts, recliner mechanisms and sofa bed mechanisms are covered for 2 years.
Your statutory rights are unaffected.
We offer a 2 year guarantee on all occasional, dining and bedroom furniture and all mattresses.

The contract between us shall be governed by the laws of England and any dispute between us will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England. English is the only language offered for the conclusion of the contract. Our products are chosen on the basis that they will be used for domestic use. If you are planning to use them for business purposes please make sure that you are covered by the appropriate insurance. Where you decide to use the products in the course of a business, we exclude (to the fullest extent permitted by law) those warranties and conditions relating to fitness for a particular purpose. Our maximum liability to business users arising out of or in connection with the products shall be limited to the replacement value of the product in question (except in the case of death or personal injury caused by our negligence or in respect of fraud). In relation to business users, we do not accept liability for the fitness of goods for business purposes, nor do we accept liability for loss of use of the item nor any loss over and above the cost of the item in the event of a claim for breach of warranty or condition. All our sofa's are suitable for general domestic use only. For commercial use, we do not accept any responsibility or liability for safety standards or compliance unless you have requested, in writing, furniture for use in that environment and we have supplied relevant safety certification.
DFS shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver products or otherwise perform any obligation as specified in these terms and conditions if the same is wholly or partly caused whether directly or indirectly by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
You may not assign or sub-contract any of your rights or obligations under these terms and conditions or any related order for products to any third party.
If any portion of these terms and conditions is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part, the validity or enforceability of the other sections of these terms and conditions shall not be affected.
By responding to our request with the @dfs mention and/or hashtag #mydfs and uploading User Content to this Site or by accepting these Terms of Use (TOU) in connection with otherwise making User Content available to Olapic, you grant DFS and our third-party service providers who provide content management services including Olapic, and its retail partners (collectively, the “Licensed Parties”) the worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully-paid, non-exclusive, transferable right to use your User Content in any manner to be determined in the Licensed Parties’ sole discretion, including but not limited to on its webpages, social media pages operated by the Licensed Parties, promotional e-mails and advertisements, and in other marketing, promotional and advertising initiatives, in any media now or hereafter known. The competition is open to United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland residents aged 18 or over only, except employees of DFS and their associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies and their families, agents or any other person(s) connected with the competition, including third party promotional partners.
To enter the prize draw, you must:

2) Post an Instagram grid post and/or Story frame showing a visual of your favourite summer sofa selfie moment, tagging @DFS and including the hashtag #DFSSummer.
Bulk, automatically generated or third party entries are void.
Entry is free but entrants should be aware that they may be subject to data charges depending on their own individual arrangements for internet access. Entrants do not need to own a DFS sofa in order to enter the competition.
Entry will open from the moment the launch post is published on the @DFS Instagram and page and will close at 11.59pm on Thursday 22 August 2024. Entries received outside of this time period will not be valid and will not be counted.
There will be three winners in total:
2 x winners will be selected at random from all valid entries that were received before the closing time and date.
1 x winner will be the entrant who has received the highest total number of engagements on a main fe (i.e. the combined total number of likes and comments) from all valid entries that were received before the closing time and date.
Each winner will win the DFS sofa of their choice up to the value of £1,500 for a UK winner or €1,800 for an ROI winner, with delivery to one UK or Republic of Ireland address. Winners can choose to upgrade or add to their order should they wish, and pay the additional cost prior to delivery, or via an IFC arrangement with one of DFS’ standard IFC partners.
The winners will be announced by DFS on the @DFS Instagram channel and will be invited to DM @DFS in order to claim their prize. Winners will be asked to confirm their chosen product/s, together with their name, contact email, telephone number and delivery address. Please note that the lead time for delivery of the product/s to the winner will be subject to the estimated lead times for the products they have chosen at the time of the order being placed.
The winners must place their order with DFS within one month of the competition closing date, that is, by 11.59pm on 22 September 2024.
Should DFS not receive contact from any of the three winners by 31 August 2024, DFS reserves the right to select a replacement winner by way of a second random draw (for the either or both of the two randomly selected winners) or the Instagram grid post with the second highest total number of engagements (for the highest engagement Instagram grid post winner). These processes will be repeated until the winners are found.
The prizes are non-transferable and there are no alternatives to the prizes, in whole or in part.
Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.
By entering this competition, you agree that DFS has the right to share and use the assets you post tagging @DFS and #DFSSummer until 31 December 2024 on DFS owned social channels, the DFS website, email marketing and DFS adverts on digital platforms. Any usage on the website, in emails and/or in paid digital ads would be provided to you for review and approval prior to publishing.
By entering this competition, you agree that your personal details provided to DFS in relation to this competition will be processed and used in accordance with DFS's Privacy Policy. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
The decision of DFS is final and binding, no correspondence will be entered into. The decision of DFS cannot be contested in court.
Insofar as is permitted by law, DFS will not in any circumstances by responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any disappointment, loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up your prize except where it is caused by the negligence of DFS or its employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw this offer or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice due to circumstances beyond its control. The Promoter is not responsible for any third-party acts or omissions.
